10 reviews for MOUS iPhone 13 Pro Max Wood Case – Walnut – Fully Compatible with Apple’s MagSafe

  1. Tech Reviews

Needs some improvements..I have an IPhone 13 Pro Max, so of course.. we want the best of the best to protect our investment.I have been trying cases left and right and decided to finally purchase a Mous case based on reviews, YouTube video reviews etc.. I have to say I was semi impressed but not to the extent that it would be me final everyday case..Aesthetically that case is beautiful.. it’s design is simple, it’s attractive and minimalistic. The aramid fiber design is a nice semi gloss matte finish, that matches the rest of the case quite well. It’s grippy on the sides, but not that “it won’t fall” out of your hands grippy, and the aramid fiber back can get quite slick/slippery just by natural skin oils.. so it’s one of those keep your hands clean to prevent the worries it might slip out of your hands. The case itself does have a slight bend to it while off the phone like reviewers have mentioned but you put it on your phone and it straightens out right away. It does snap into place very well, very snug against the phone and isn’t all that easy to take off. Buttons are nice and smooth to operate.. more tactile if you will. The top and bottom have a higher raised edge than the sides of the case, and it’s doesn’t hinder use of the phone or protrude into you hand like some raised edge cases do. It’s very light, has some flexibility to it but it’s also not stuff like Apples Clear Case where it has almost no flex at all and it’s a hard piece of plastic. Also, it doesn’t add a lot of bulk to your phone, or make it feel heavy. The case is very lightweight, but it will still provide protection but to me, I sometimes got the feeling it may not be enough and that one drop could crush the back of the phone and crack it. It does have nice shock absorbing material all around the sides of the case, too and bottom too, but it didn’t truly give me that sense of safety net like the otterbox defenders do, especially their pro serious.Now.. everyone’s favorite thing to read about.. MagSafe.. this is where it’s a no for me. The magnets are there that’s for sure, but they are not that strong. I have a Ram Mount MagSafe puck holder for my semi truck, and this is where MagSafe becomes my issue, and where Mous could improve. The case does have decent magnets, but they weren’t strong enough to really hold my phone in place. I hit one decent bump and the phone flew off the MagSafe puck and bounced of the dash and landed under my feet. I can’t pull over to stop and grab my phone every time it falls off, especially when I’m using my GPS. They would be more suitable and strong enough for your personal car/suv/pick up truck but not in my setting, though if you use MagSafe chargers at home or your work office etc, they are well suited for that. I have a Ghostek Atomic case and those magnets have proven to be strong enough to hold my phone on my mount set up all day without falling off one time. If Mous could improve on their magnet strength, I would’ve kept it. I can’t say the case is bad because it’s really not, but for what I need in a case, the magnet strength and protection it just didn’t meet my needs.Overall, this is a minimalist case, with good protection, simple yet ergonomically designed with some decent MagSafe strength and I recommend it to anyone who would want something for everyday use 100%. For use like mine, I would look at the Ghostek Atomic as it’s like an otterbox with stronger magnets, it’s lighter, less expensive and honestly looks better. And as a side note, if you’re like me and do your review research, I will say that I recommend this case over the Cadaube Sheath. Even though the Sheath is everyone’s highest rated, it’s not close to the Mous Limitless.. the sheath, while grippy as all get out is still slippery with almost very little protection all over and has some of the weakest magnets I’ve experienced with in a case.

Works well the fabric on the back does wear thoughBeen using this case for a year it’s nice and tight to the phone while protecting the phone from drops (which happen frequently in my line of work) the only negative I have for it is that the fabric on the back does over time start to peel away from the back of the case. I haven’t yet determined if that has a negative affect on grip but it is the only negative I’ve found. Note I have been using this case with screen and lens protectors and have had to replace the lens protector a couple times unsure if this is just due to the protector failing in a drop or minimal protection by the case still protectors are cheap phones are not

Good qualityAs some others have said, this case is a little slick. I don’t have issues with it sliding off furniture and it is easier to slide in/out of my pocket because of this, but I could see how it would be an issue for some. Materials quality and finish are good. Slightly raised edges at top and bottom to protect in case of a drop, cutouts are precise and easy to access while power/volume button covers are equally easy to use. Overall, great case.

Don’t Get the Carbon Fiber OneI’ve owned several Mous cases for several different iPhones. They’re now my go-to case. Bamboo is the best. Walnut is nice, too. Don’t get the carbon fiber. After about a week, the magnets start wearing through the carbon fiber.

Really nice case, but slippery.I wanted to be able to keep this case since it seems to be really high quality and I love the design, but I found it pretty slippery, so I had to return it. A case just isn’t much good if it slips out of the hand. Still rating it 4 stars though, based on overall quality.

Protective but slipperySeems like it would protect the phone well. But it later very slippery. Falls out of my hand off of things I sit it on.

Nice looking case, good quality and finishing. At 60$ I expected a bit higher quality materials on the case itself but its nothing to really complain about. The box (sort of irrelevant, its presentation is above average) is kind of cheap as well. The case is made of hard plastics on the borders and inside, but it does soak up falls with ease as promised by the brand. Aramid Fiber weave is the best looking one I have seen in any other brand of phone cases. It is one of the most expensive cases for iphones but it rightly deserves its price tag, its also very comfortable in hand. Having had many different cases on many different iphones I can honestly conluced that very few others combine good looks and durability like Mous. At 60$ however I wish they brought at least a screen/camera protector to complement the case.

Great case that doesn’t sacrifice style!!I love the look of the wood with the black protective hard rubber. It’s sleek, feels great on the phone, and the buttons are super clicky which I enjoy. Definitely a high quality case!!

I trusted your product and it failedI was out walking today and dropped my phone out of my pocket, I’ve trusted your products for as long as I can remember so picked it up and carried on walking. I have tempered glass and a camera protector, I noticed the camera was a bit blurry so looked over it and took the case off only to notice the whole back is completely smashed. I’m devastated, I didn’t throw it, nor drop it from a massive height as your product advertisement suggests. It was a little drop from a pocket, that’s it! I spent so much money on my phone and trusted your product. I want to know where I can go from here and whether I will receive any compensation, I understand that every situation is different however when a product is based off of its creditation , I’m sure you’ll agree you wouldn’t want that to be jeopardised. I have photos that can prove I always use the case and photos of the smashed screen. I really am surprised at the extent of damage that has occurred while my phone was in one of your cases. I look forward to speaking with you. Many thanksCharles

Best Case I’ve Ever HadNew phone meant it’s time for a new case. I’m into a three-year deal on this one, so I’ve got to take care of it!I’ve always used Spigen cases until now, and they’ve always been pretty good. In the usual way that Facebook seems to know everything you’re unto, I started to see some ads for Mous. While I think their extreme “testing” might eb a bit ambitious, it did enough to catch my attention and to check out their product.I have to say the case feels good! It’s a really accurate fit (sometime the Spigen relied on its rubberiness to achieve this), and it feels much more rigid than cases I’ve had before. The edges are are grippy and easy to hold, but are harder than the cases I’ve had before – feels nice and I think it’ll be more durable too.The raised lip will protect the screen well – interesting design detail is that the lip is deeper at the corners, and less in the middle so it doesn’t interfere with your swiping. All the buttons are replicated well, ports are easily accessible. Wireless charging works just fine, and if upgrade to a MagSafe charger, I know the case is designed for this too.I use a single handset with two SIM cards for work and personal – so it gets used pretty much all the time. After a couple of weeks of use, there’s still not a mark on the case so I’m convinced it’ll be with me for a long time. You will spend a bit more on the Mous case, but based on what I’ve seen so far, it’s money well spent.
